Hello to my fellow Chante Moore fans, far & wide and welcome to the first official episode recap of The Moore Chante Show. If you’re here, that means you most likely have watched this past Sunday’s episode. If you haven’t, you can always go here for Facebook and here for Instagram to catch the show. What some of you may NOT know is that this review comes at the request of The Voice herself, Lady Chante (details here).
If you’re new to her show, here’s a breakdown: With the country, pardon me, the WORLD on lockdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, various celebrities and public figures took to the internet to help us all stave off the onset of cabin fever. Let’s be real, the #ShelterInPlace aka #StayAtHome order had us all feeling a bit downtrodden, missing that daily outdoor activity and our friends and family. Thankfully, these and other caring entities donated their talents, skills and resources to keep us both informed and entertained. But our own celestial songstress decided to take it to the next level! Not only by inviting us into her home, but making it a weekly commitment, gifting us with access to a weekly in-home concert.
And no, it didn’t end there. Calling it an Ice Cream (social) Sunday, we were treated to not only good music, but thoughts of love, advice, life tales, spiritual and emotional uplifting and dessert time with our favorite singer. But rather than revisit all of that in extreme detail, I suggest you click the aforementioned link to that blog post. You’re not here for reasons why, you wanna talk about this past Sunday’s great show! Right, Chante?

This being the final show for the month of August, Chante went out with the fire! She began by thanking us all for our attendance during the preceding week’s show, which aired much earlier than planned. It also her pause for thought, which may result in a few special “Midnight Love” episodes in the future; something, “a little romantical” as she playfully put it.

She also gave a special birthday shout-out to Cheryl/Sheryl Cobb, as well as all of the fans celebrating birthdays the preceding week.
…and then, what we all came for, the grace and treasure of her voice with the following songs (I hope I didn’t identify any artist incorrectly. I’ll try to sync up with her before writing future posts):
- “He Wants It All” by Forever Jones [She reminded us that His voice cries out in the middle of chaos and silence. She also touched on who or what we idolize in our respective lives. Finally, that we should start loving and paying more attention to each other than we do.]

- “You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin [As an afterthought, Chante asked that you “Give me my flowers while I live. Don’t wait until I’m gone.” Tell me, tell the world, while you still can…]

- “Extraordinary Machine” by Fiona Apple
- “Straight Up” by Chante Moore
- “Special” by Chante Moore
One of the deepest moments was her mention of the loss of beloved actor Chadwick Boseman as she sent healing love and condolences to his family as well as fans and friends around the globe. Rest In Peace, Chadwick.
Sharing a little bit of scripture, she took us to (forgive me, I didn’t have the version she read from handy so I’ll give you the King James and NIV):
Philippians 4:8
(NIV) “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.”
(KJV) “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there by any praise, think on these things.”
Don’t let anyone steal your joy; take your power. Take your power back! Remember that good and bad will happen to everyone (“the rain falls on the just and the unjust”). Take it all in stride and press on.
Chante also shared the very important reminder that we ALL need to vote in this upcoming election, now, more than ever, being very clear about who we want in office (Change cannot be dependent upon those around us. Every single vote counts).
Guess who dropped in as her special guest, midway through the show? None other than her beautiful daughter, Sophia, who shared her healthy eating regimen (she’s Vegan-ISH), joined in on a few songs, some laughs…


And you know Chante was more than happy to share the joys of having a daughter and being a parent, something to which most of us can relate.
Because in the end, it’s all about love isn’t it? Showing and giving it in the best ways we know how…
…while we’re still living…
…even if it’s just an “Airhug”.
