I’m sitting here in disbelief because I cannot believe that it’s already been five years! Yes, you read that correctly, especially those of you who have been here since Day 1.
You longtime followers might remember that we actually got things cranking on December 31, 2018 on Blogger.com.
No disrespect to that platform, in fact, I’m very appreciative of it for helping me get things started. It’s just that WordPress (now operating as Jetpack) is where I decided to go, once things got hoppin’. That’s probably the last time I’ll make mention of the original start date.
But yeah, I’ve – correction – WE’VE been at this for 5 years now! Talking about a little bit of everything (click on any link below to read it again, or for the very first time):
I’ve shared Listicles such as:

- 10 Things You Were Afraid To Tell Your Parents
- 10 Pros And Cons of Working From Home
- People Paralysis: 10 Things You Should Know About Respecting Someone Else’s Time
- 10 Horror Movies I Would Live/Die In
- 10 Annoying Things Customers Ask Or Do (or BOTH)
- 10 Road Rage Rationalizations
…and many more.
I’ve shared Church Tales, my not so holy moments in the Lord’s house or involving it, such as Kenny Davis, You Are The DEVIL!, My Growing Affection and Chef Boyaryou Crazy??. I’m sure many of you have wondered why the Lord hasn’t taken me out already…

Many of you have also read my Gym Tales, which have yielded unfavorable results in physical appearance as well as social status, like You Got Me? Yeah, I Got’choo, and The “Blow Out”! I Mean, WORK Out…
And speaking of social misfires, how about my dating life? You all should remember (and some of you were THERE when they happened) stories like Damaged Dates: Once, Twice, Three Times The Ladies or How A Heavy Heart Paved The Path Of & For My Personality.

There have been tales in Photojournalism, Recipes, Music Mixes, Movie Reviews, Safety Tips, Sports Talk and many other topics. Sometimes, I got deep, particularly in civil issues and what it’s like or what I’ve experienced personally, being an African American in today’s world. In fact, one of my most popular articles fell in that category, and it just happened to be inspired by an old 70s sitcom episode: The Jeffersons: 5 Powerful Lessons From One Of Its Most Disturbing, Yet Memorable Episodes [National Day of Racial Healing].
And then there was my most impactful and difficult series ever written, which spanned 5 posts. My Africa To America Series.
- Part 1: More Than Just A Slave Journey – A tale of the breaking of the human spirit and creation of a slave. As it was put in the Roots mini-series reboot, “You can’t buy a slave. Ya gotta MAKE a slave…”
- Part 2: Pride Of Self – The need for people (of ALL cultures) to take pride in their heritage.
- Part 3: Hatred Of Self – My concerns about disharmony within the Black community.
- Part 4: Family – A day in the life of the Davis family.
- Part 5: The Future – A peek into where we are headed as a people and a world in general.
On a lighter note, let’s not forget those hilarious Good Pranks Gone Wrong:
- Episode 1: The Abduction.
- Episode 2: A Night At The Movies.
- Episode 3: Chillin’ In The Corn.
- Episode 4: Leavin’, Deceivin’ And Believin’.
- Episode 5: the Disappearing Man.
- Episode 6: One Of These Pranks Is Not Like The Others.
- Episode 7: April POOL! -aka- Spring Break Him In.
- Episode 8: Who You Gonna Call?

And would you believe there are more of those to come in 2025? I’ve played a lot of practical jokes over the years. And as you can obviously see, well, the best laid plans of mice and morons…
But the ones you all seem to love the most are the stories of my family, famously known as Davis Family Adventures – A wide assortment of stories of my father and mother’s leadership, the laughter, the unity and love we all shared and how I passed those traditions on to my own children. Memories like: The Family Food Factory, Remembering Grandma On Grandparent’s Day, Christmas Presence: Father’s Final Lesson, A Parent’s Nightmare, Dishing Out The Punishment, Children Of The Candy Corn (A Harrowing Halloween Story), Daddy Was The REAL “Godfather”, and my personal favorite, Say Hello To Gianna Rose (I Am A Grandfather!).
I know. That’s a lot of examples (and links), but hey, there are a whole heckuva lot of things on my mind or stored deeply within it! 380 in fact (not including this one), with 13 written & scheduled to post, with another 179 in draft, not too far from completion. You read that right, I have posted 380 blogs in the past 5 years and none of them are just short messages. Not that they’re lengthy (well, some are, and for good reason). It’s just that everything I’ve put up has been given good reflection and consideration.

I put a great deal of work into them because you take the time to read them, so I have a responsibility to make them worth your valuable time and attention. Truth be told, there would be a whole lot more if I hadn’t decided to take a 4โ5-month hiatus back in September for a mental/spiritual break and to work on a personal project. I’d like to say that I’m back, full steam, but I’m still working diligently on that project. It’s my priority, sorry folks. Currently I’m putting out the scheduled ones, with a few new ones, at a pace of about 1-2 a month. I know, that’s considerably lower than when I posted upwards of 15-20 per month. But don’t worry. In time…
In the meantime, I just want to say Thank You to you all, once again. Thanks for reading, leaving comments, making requests, signing up for the mailing list and sharing my blog with others. I don’t generate revenue from it because I cover so many topics, thus I don’t target any one audience. I just talk about what’s on my demented mind.
As I will continue to do.
Oh, and speaking of, if you choose to leave a comment, it’s so much easier for me to respond if I know who you are. Especially if I know you. So, leave your name at the bottom, ok?
In closing (FINALLY dude!) Happy 5th Birthday to Kenny’s Camera, Cooking & Crazy Confessions, also known as ZootsBlogSpot! Look for more topics, more stories, more encouraging words and more love.

Here’s to 5+ more, provided I don’t get another lightning bolt. I’m runnin’ out of clothes.

I have been truly blessed with our connection. It has been a pleasure following your blogs. ๐๐พ
